thoughts about paris, and other pictures

"For everything everybody says, good and bad, Paris remains one of the greatest, most beautiful, most magical cities in the world. And like a lot of great cities, it's entirely possible to have a bad time. Please don't do that. Just avoid the obvious. Some of us are lucky enough to see Paris once in our lifetime, please make the most of it by doing as little as possible." Anthony Bourdain in The Layover: Paris

I went home to Singapore for 10 days last week! Lots of catching up, eating and shopping at Daiso, Muji and Uniqlo. Food porn ensues.

Nasi lemak from Old Town White Coffee, good but expensive at S$9.90 a pop
Matcha on toast at Wa Cafe
Clockwise: BBQ Stingray, fried squid, oyster omelette and satay
Lavender latte at The Bravery

Nasi Padang from Minang House
Blanco Court Prawn Mee, yummy!
Sushi from Sun with Moon, my favourite Japanese restaurant

paris day seven

Day Seven in Paris and the trip is almost over, just when I was getting used to Parisian hospitality. Spent the day wandering around South Pigalle before heading over to the Musee Gustave Moreau.

Enjoying a cuppa
Quartino, our favourite pizza place in Paris!
Sebastien Gaudard, love the macarons here!
Settled for a vanilla eclair and a Mont Blanc, lovely

Really cute things in this shop but this being a Sunday, it was closed
That's it guys, seven days in Paris. Looking back on these posts, I can't believe that I actually covered quite a bit of ground there.

After Paris, I went to London for two days before heading home to Singapore for 10 days. Will post about them in the coming days.

paris day six

Day Six and the trip is almost over! We covered so much ground on Day Six. Went to Palais-Royale and then to Colette which was very crowded and overrated. We also visited Musee Du Quai Branly, which is my favourite museum in Paris. I love it's focus on ethnic and tribal cultures, I love the way the artefacts are displayed and the storyline. Definitely worth a visit!

Only one more day to go!

paris day five, part two

Sorry for the lag in-between posts, I went home for two weeks! Am back now, albeit very jet-lagged. Anyway, onwards to the Paris posts.

We managed to get to the Lourve on a Friday evening. Getting through the queues was a breeze, even though we didn't get as much time in the museum. Here's some of the pictures I got.

Love the way light falls on this sculpture
Artist-at-work spotted
I love the the way this sculpture is positioned
A little romance at the Lourve
Have you been to Musee du Lourve? What are your top tips for visiting the museum?
