causeway coast, 4 months late

This batch of videos have been sitting in my laptop for the last four months. I've been looking at them over and over again, not sure if it's even good enough to put up. I guess the only way to find out is to put it up and see what happens.

in a nutshell: june 2014

Stumbled onto these lovely murals somewhere near North Street

At The MAC
Even though I bought a new camera, I've still been shooting on my iPhone 4S, which is on her last legs, I think.

So here's some stuff I loved in June...

For people who cannot keep up with Game of Thrones, wants a crash course on this TV series, or just really enjoy recaps, watch Gay of Thrones.

World Cup 2014; to commemorate the teams who are no longer in the running, go to Sad Footballers.

I am obsessed with Japanese food this month, great recipes at Cooking With Dog's YouTube channel, all cooking is supervised by a poodle!

Catch Arcade Fire at Glastonbury on BBC's website. Watch soon, the link expires in 3 weeks. They played all my favourite songs! The show is 105 minutes long, so you should definitely sip a cup of this while you're watching.

it only takes a minute

Actually it takes less than a minute.

I've kinda fallen off the vlogging wagon for a couple of months. Got really frustrated with my cranky iPhone 4S. Still, I wanted to put together something from my Paris trip. So here it is. 100 photos in 55 seconds!

Let me know what you think.

favourite stuff from may 2014

I don't really do hauls or product reviews on my blog because I don't want to encourage people to go out and buy stuff that they don't need. But nothing here costs more than £5, so I think I can break this rule for once. So here's a peek of what I loved in May.

Assorted stationery
Plastic cups in light pastel
It's hard to get a hold of pretty stationery in Belfast I indulged myself in Muji while I was back in Singapore. Especially since I'm planning to take more classes at Queen's in autumn. I also picked up these four plastic cups from the toiletries section. I think they're meant to hold toothbrushes but I drink water from them and also eat ice cream out of them. *grin*

I love eating out of this coral bowl from the IKEA PS 2014 collection
The Vert (Lipton), Lemon, Ginger and Manuka Honey (Pukka) and Chai Tea Latte (Dolce Gusto)
I picked up Lipton's The Vert from Carrefour while in Paris and I wished I got more. I like this much more than the Casablanca tea (Moroccan mint and bergamont) from Mariage Freres. I also love that the tea leaves are wrapped in cloth, like a little ball.

I picked up the Lemon, Ginger and Manuka Honey tea from Waitrose in London but I've since seen this in Belfast. But I picked up 3 boxes so I'm good for a while.

I'm not a big fan of Chai Tea Latte but I wanted to give this one from Dolce Gusto a go and I'm glad I did. Just the right balance of spice and tea, but if you like your chai spicy, you might not like this one.

Favourite YouTube channel: Crash Course
I think the content on this channel is targeted at secondary and high school students but I'm really enjoying their series on Literature. I really love their series on World History as well. I really like the way John Green is able to present complex issues in a way that is easy to understand but still thought-provoking. It's funny and has great graphics too!

Summer's round the corner, I hope you have an awesome one!

london stopover in may

I was looking through my photos and just realised that I haven't uploaded photos from my London stopover before heading back to Singapore. So here they are.

A selection of desserts, which was disappointing
Beautiful day in Hyde Park

scenes from singapore

I have a bad habit. I rely on photos to remind myself of stuff, like trips, what I ate, what I did, etc. And I started this blog to help me organise my memories, because after a while, everything just melds together like a giant lump of memories.

Anyway, here are some photos I took on my recent trip home.

Skyscrapers everywhere, not seen these for awhile
Wandering around Loewen Road on a hot Saturday afternoon
Abandoned bungalows
More abandoned bungalows
Waiting for my dentist

thoughts about paris, and other pictures

"For everything everybody says, good and bad, Paris remains one of the greatest, most beautiful, most magical cities in the world. And like a lot of great cities, it's entirely possible to have a bad time. Please don't do that. Just avoid the obvious. Some of us are lucky enough to see Paris once in our lifetime, please make the most of it by doing as little as possible." Anthony Bourdain in The Layover: Paris
